Therapy Across the Full Spectrum of Reproductive Health
Reproductive transitions don’t come with a survival guide- but they should! Whether you’re unexpectedly pregnant, have been TTC for years, are processing an abortion experience, recovering from a difficult birth, or reclaiming your body after sexual violence, you deserve nothing less than nonjudgmental support. My work centers the real-life complexities of becoming (or not becoming, or trying to survive being) a parent. My background as a full spectrum birthworker shows up in the therapy room- I provide the information you need to make empowered decisions and teach you advocate for yourself in medical spaces as a radical act of self-love.
My style is warm, conversational, and naturally curious, so therapy with me feels approachable and comfortable. I’ve been known to sprinkle spicy feminist rants into sessions, sometimes showing up barefoot or with an iced latte (no matter the season). I firmly believe that people don’t exist in a vacuum- so I help folks make changes within their reach while acknowledging the intersectional barriers unique to every person.
I help people who are struggling with…

While pregnancy is often a time of excitement, it can also be full of worries or unexpected complications. Many birthing people experience anxiety about their body, baby, and the endless “what ifs” of giving birth. Pregnant people often share thoughts like:
I’m not enjoying this time like I thought I would- shouldn’t I be happy?
What if I give birth in the car? What if we lose the baby’s heartbeat? What if…
I don’t feel prepared for this… At. All.
I also work with parents struggling postpartum- everything from intrusive thoughts, constant overwhelm, sleep deprivation, and navigating the NICU, to postpartum depression, anxiety, and mental health crises. Both birthing and non-birthing parents sometimes say things like:
I’m not bonding with my baby- does this make me a terrible parent?
I’m failing at this- I’m just not cut out for parenthood.
I feel so hopeless- it feels like this will never end.
Whether you’re experiencing any of these or other challenges during pregnancy or postpartum, I provide a nonjudgmental space to welcome all feelings, connect with support, and feel like yourself again while becoming the parent you want to be.
-
Birth should be an empowering experience- but for many birthing people, their child’s arrival is filled with fear, mistreatment, or a loss of control. If your birth left you feeling unheard, pressured, or dehumanized, you’re not alone. Obstetric violence is real, and its effects can last long after delivery.
Clients often come to me saying things like:
I felt like my body wasn’t my own during birth.
I can’t stop replaying everything in my head- when did it all go wrong?
I’m scared to give birth again because of what happened.
I shouldn’t feel this way- my baby and I are both healthy.
These are not overreactions- they’re signs of trauma, and you deserve a space to unpack it all with someone who understands. As a doula, I’ve seen firsthand how birth experiences can shape a person’s relationship with their body and baby. In therapy, we’ll move gently through your birth story, giving you space to process your emotions, write a new narrative, and find healing through repair.

Healing from sexual violence can feel isolating, confusing, and overwhelming. Clients often share thoughts like:
I don’t know how to stop blaming myself.
I feel so disconnected from who I used to be.
I’m exhausted from always pretending everything’s okay.
Trauma can also surface while navigating pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. Survivors sometimes share feelings like:
I’m scared I won’t feel safe in my body during birth.
My body changing brings up memories I didn’t expect.
I want this baby, but pregnancy is bringing up old trauma- and I thought I was done healing.
In therapy, we work together to not only process trauma, but also explore its impact on all areas of your life. I help survivors to reclaim their bodies, deepen their relationship with themselves, and heal at their own pace.

The path to parenthood isn’t always perfect. Loss can come in many forms: miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion, failed adoption, termination for medical reasons, or unsuccessful fertility treatments. Even during a healthy pregnancy, grief is common- especially after a previous loss, while mourning a loved one, or during a major life transition.
People I work with often share things like:
I feel like my body betrayed me.
I can’t handle another round of IVF- what if it ends in medical bills and heartbreak?
I feel judged for grieving a pregnancy that never began.
I never imagined becoming first-time parent without my own mom here.
I provide compassionate counseling for all forms of reproductive trauma, infertility, and loss, so you don’t have to navigate these challenges alone. In therapy, we create space to hold heavy emotions, process grief, and rebuild hope.

Many queer and trans clients come to me carrying both the excitement of exploring their identity or starting a family, and the weight of navigating systems that weren’t built for them. Whether you’re exploring your gender or sexual identity, navigating queer conception, surviving trans or nonbinary pregnancy, processing birth trauma or reproductive loss, or searching for affirming parenting spaces, you deserve to feel like more than just an afterthought.
You might be saying things like:
Every resource I find is written for straight, cis women- where do I fit in?
People don’t understand the trauma of queer loss- we can’t “just try again”.
I’m grieving the paths to parenthood that aren’t possible for us and the privileges we don’t have.
I just want a therapist who gets it- without me having to educate them.
You deserve care that truly centers the complexities of queer and trans experiences. No matter where you are in your journey- identity exploration, reproductive experiences, or parenting- I offer an affirming space to process it all.

Babies are always welcome in session, and water and tea are always available. Please note, my office is upstairs and (sadly) not wheelchair or stroller accessible.

Perinatal Mental Health Wellness Visits
Currently pregnant? Want to be proactive about your mental health? Let’s prevent challenges before they begin! My “wellness visits” are similar to a wellness visit with your doctor- we’ll focus on keeping you well and monitoring the need for additional care.
In this single session, we will:
Assess your risk for postpartum mood/anxiety disorders, based on your mental health history, stressors, and protective factors.
Create an individualized action plan that includes things like social support, nourishment, movement, sleep, and coping strategies to protect your mental health.
Identify your personal warning signs that signal the need for extra support- and where to turn for help.
Receive education on postpartum mental health. Learn what’s normal, what’s not, what helps, and what resources are available.
Check-in sessions can be scheduled as needed. If you find yourself struggling postpartum, you’ll already be established with a therapist who knows you- just reach out to hop back on my schedule.
Sliding scale private pay only; see rates above. Available in-office or virtually across Louisiana. Partners and support people welcome to join!
FAQ’s
-
My approach is strengths-based and solution-focused- meaning we’ll work together on practical steps to help you feel better faster. We’ll create a plan that can include support groups, medication, education, movement, sunlight exposure, sleep strategies, traditional healing practices, and more. I incorporate aspects of CBT, Interpersonal therapy, and Polyvagal theory to help clients reframe their thinking, regulate their nervous systems, and work through any negative beliefs they hold.
-
Absolutely! You deserve support, regardless of your biological role in welcoming your baby. Dads, non-gestational moms, trans women, and adoptive parents can all experience postpartum mental health challenges.
-
In general, most clients attend weekly or every-other-week sessions throughout pregnancy and “the fourth trimester” (12 weeks postpartum). We’ll start by focusing on symptom relief, then reassess to see if deeper or longer-term work would be helpful.
Clients who come to me for reproductive loss, infertility, or sexual trauma often need extra time to process and heal, and usually remain in therapy for several weeks to months. We’ll reassess throughout, checking in often and adjusting as needed.
-
Not every therapist is the right fit for every client, and that’s okay! I like to consider our first 2-3 sessions as a “trial period” to determine if we’re a good match. After this time frame, I’ll check in to see if you feel comfortable moving forward. If not, I’m happy to connect you with trusted colleagues- no feelings hurt.
-
You deserve a whole team of people supporting you- not one person trying to do it all. I can either be your doula or your therapist. If you’re interested in both forms of support, I’m happy to take on one role and connect you with trusted, vetted professionals for the other- let’s build your dream team!
-
I’m available Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday afternoons and evenings, as well as most of the day Friday.

If you’re new, introduce yourself here and I’ll be in touch to set up a free 15-minute consultation. Current clients can schedule an appointment through the client portal or reach out via text or email.
