Where Reproductive Care Meets Mental Health

Reproductive transitions don’t come with a survival guide- but they should! Whether you’re unexpectedly pregnant, trying to conceive, navigating menstrual or hormonal health challenges, processing an abortion experience, trying to survive postpartum, or reconnecting with your body after trauma, you deserve nothing less than nonjudgmental support.

I help people who are struggling with…

Perinatal mental health + more:

  • Welcoming a new baby is supposed to be a time of excitement… right? For many folks, it doesn’t quite feel that way. (And that doesn’t make you a bad parent.)

Pregnancy can come with worry, mood changes, and complications. And postpartum is often more intense than people expect- many parents deal with intrusive thoughts, overwhelm, sleep deprivation, and relationship shifts.

No matter what you’re feeling, you deserve support. As a therapist + doula, I offer education, resource navigation, and mental health support. Together, we can create an empowering birth (and postpartum!) plan and tap into your inner strengths to help you thrive as a new (or new again) parent.

  • Birth trauma can happen when your birth experience leaves you feeling afraid, powerless, or unsafe. For some, this stems from mistreatment or coercion during labor and delivery (sometimes called obstetric violence). For others, trauma may follow a medical emergency, a NICU stay, or a situation where you or your baby were at risk.

Even when everyone is ultimately "healthy," it can be hard to stop replaying what happened in your mind. As both a trauma-informed therapist and doula, I provide a space to process your birth story, reconnect with your sense of safety, and move toward healing with compassion and support.

  • The path to parenthood is often imperfect. Loss can come in many forms: miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion, failed adoption, termination for medical reasons, or unsuccessful fertility treatments. Even during a healthy pregnancy, grief is common- especially after a previous loss, while mourning a loved one, or during a major life transition.

I offer an unbiased space to process all forms of reproductive loss, so you don’t have to navigate this alone. In therapy, we’ll work together to rebuild trust in your body and rewrite your reproductive story into an empowering, healing narrative.

  • Queer and trans folks often have to navigate reproductive spaces that weren’t built for them. Whether you’re exploring your fertility options, trying to survive trans or nonbinary pregnancy, feeding your baby with your body, or fighting to have your family legally recognized, you deserve to feel like more than just an afterthought.

Building family as a queer or trans person often requires extra planning, advocacy, and resilience. Along with the excitement of growing your family, you might also be experiencing grief, anxiety, discrimination, identity changes, or the exhaustion of constantly having to explain yourself. My goal is to provide a space where your experiences are understood, your family is affirmed, and you can focus on thriving rather than educating your therapist.

  • Feeling like your entire life revolves around your cycle? Conditions like PMDD, endometriosis, and PCOS can impact every part of your life. And when your symptoms are constantly minimized or dismissed by healthcare providers, it can start to feel like you’re actually the problem.

Good news- you’re not. I help clients to understand their bodies and advocate for themselves in systems that often fail to listen. Together, we can learn to chart your cycle, track your symptoms, and reclaim ownership of your body.

Our Work Together

  • My style is warm, conversational, and deeply affirming. I bring humor and (occasional) spicy feminist rants into sessions, and I’ve been known to show up barefoot with an iced latte- no matter the season.

Our sessions will be filled with plants, natural light, and the smell of peppermint or burning incense. I’m always happy to offer a cup of lavender chamomile tea… and we never run out of chocolate.

  • Depending on what led you here, we might work on:

    • Building self-trust and reconnecting with your body

    • Creating an empowering birth + postpartum plan

    • Learning how to navigate medical systems + advocate for yourself

    • Finding ways to honor the loss and trauma you’re carrying

    • Birth story processing & integration

    • Finding community (because being with folks in the same boat can help!)

  • As an eclectic therapist, I’m not married to any single modality. I weave together aspects of narrative therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, CBT, ACT, solution-focused & strengths-based therapy, and somatic practices.

I firmly believe that people don’t exist in a vacuum, so I take a systemic approach to therapy- which means we’ll explore how the systems around you (like culture, politics, capitalism, & societal norms) impact your mental health.

  • Our first session will be 60 minutes, ensuring extra time to build a plan for our work together. We’ll decide how often to meet, set goals, and determine if any other supports are needed. After that, all follow-up sessions are 50 minutes.

Location

My office is located in the Lower Garden District in New Orleans (near Coliseum Square Park). Street parking is readily available. Please note, my office is upstairs and (sadly) not wheelchair or stroller accessible- but babies are always welcome in session.

I also offer Telehealth sessions across the state. Due to licensing laws, clients must be physically located in Louisiana at the time of their session.

FAQ’s

  • My approach is strengths-based and solution-focused- meaning we’ll work together on practical steps to help you feel better faster. We’ll create a plan that can include support groups, medication, education, movement, sunlight exposure, sleep strategies, traditional healing practices, and more. I incorporate aspects of CBT, Interpersonal therapy, and Polyvagal theory to help clients reframe their thinking, regulate their nervous systems, and work through any negative beliefs they hold.

  • Absolutely! You deserve support, regardless of your biological role in welcoming your baby. Dads, non-gestational moms, trans women, and adoptive parents can all experience postpartum mental health challenges.

  • For perinatal clients: most folks attend weekly or every-other-week sessions throughout pregnancy and “the fourth trimester” (12 weeks postpartum). After that, we’ll reassess to see if deeper or longer-term work would be helpful.

Clients who come to me for reproductive loss, infertility, trauma, or other concerns often need extra time to process and heal- usually remaining in therapy for several weeks to months. We’ll reassess throughout, checking in often and adjusting as needed.

  • Not every therapist is the right fit for every client, and that’s okay! I like to consider our first 2-3 sessions as a “trial period” to determine if we’re a good match. After this time frame, I’ll check in to see if you feel comfortable moving forward. If not, I’m happy to connect you with trusted colleagues- no feelings hurt.

  • I’m available Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday afternoons and evenings, as well as most of the day Friday.

  • You deserve a whole team of people supporting you- not one person trying to do it all. I can either be your doula or your therapist. If you’re interested in both forms of support, I’m happy to take on one role and connect you with trusted, vetted professionals for the other- let’s build your dream team!
